Norman Transfer Station Switches Over to New Drive Entrance

Effective on August 19, access to the City of Norman Transfer Station will switch over to the new driveway constructed as part of the facility improvements for the new Household Hazardous Waste Facility. The new driveway is located several hundred feet north of the existing driveway but remains off of Chautauqua Avenue and will provide an expanded, safer drive access to and from the transfer station and the Household Hazardous Waste Facility that is still under construction.  Read more here...

Starting August 19, 2021, the access to the City of Norman transfer Station will be moved to the new driveway constructed as part of the new Household Hazards Waste Facility facility improvements. The new driveway can be found several hundred feet north of the existing driveway but still off of Chautauqua Avenue. With a construction cost of $1 396,000, the said project will give the residents a year-round location for disposing of household items and chemicals. On the other hand, the Container Maintenance Facility that will be constructed costs $931 000. It will give a safer and more efficient workspace to rehabilitate the dumpster used for solid waste.

I like this museum because it features four billion years of Oklahoma history aside from being a family-friendly adventure. Oklahoma is known for being the world’s largest Apatosaurus and other dinosaurs. I like the centerpiece of the Hall of Ancient Life; the Clash of the Titans. Its exhibit covers the Cretaceous and Cenozoic and periods and exhibits about the mass extinctions of the dinosaurs. Other exhibits in the museum that I always enjoy are realistic nature dioramas, like the limestone cave, artifacts of Native Americans, diverse collections, and biological specimens.
